In 1998, in the city of Zhetysay in the modern Turkestan region, the Syrdarya University was opened with the aim of attracting young people from remote areas of the southern part of the country to receive higher education. It was an educational center created with the aim of solving social problems by educating spiritually rich, intelligent and qualified specialists. Over 25 years, this educational institution has become one of the private higher education institutions with a long history and traditions. Today, the university employs 34 specialists in 13 bachelor's degree programs. There are licenses for the right to conduct educational activities in 6 specialties in 5 master's degree programs.

The idea of ​​establishing Miras University as a private university of a new generation was born in the mid-1990s, when it became clear that the existing system of humanitarian and economic education implemented in classical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not meet the requirements of the new socio-economic situation and requires radical changes. The primary task that was formulated by the founders is to create a university that will implement the principles of academic honesty and freedom, provide students with tools for analyzing and forecasting real processes, teach them to work with statistics and economic models.

The University is the only specialized higher education institution in Kazakhstan that trains personnel for the service sector and actively introduces elements of dual education into its educational programs.

International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasavi – one of the leading multidisciplinary universities of Kazakhstan. The University annually ranks in the top ten in the national ranking of universities (6th place in 2018), positions itself as an innovative University that implements modern educational and scientific policy, which is based on the desire for constant professional growth and personal development.
